no buzz in second but i get a buzz in 3rd

hey guys, just wanted to get your take on this.
today i went for a quick joy ride and i took it easy for the first 10-15 mins to fully warmed up the car, then i hit a stop light and started to smile, i took off and shifted to second by 4000rpm, i then floored it and it pulled great, infact I was having so much fun i did not look down because i figured the rev limiter buzzard would buzz at about 7500rpm (i was just enjoying the view as everyone else dissapeared), unfortunatly it did not and i looked down and i was just climbing to 8045rpm, i let off and cooled the car down. i then did another run in 3rd and it buzzed in 3rd at about 7500rpm. what could this be, is this normal? what is the revlimit for a 93 base fd? i have heard 7500 from some people and 8000 from others. anyways the my car is still find and idles and pulls the same amount of vaccume as normal, temps normal too. it starts and drives like normal too so im pretty sure i did not bust anything.

7500 for an Auto and 8000 for manual but an extra 500 probabley won't do any harm. The buzzer should come in at about 7500 but if it doesn't I'm not suprised. They started these buzzers on the RX-3 because the engine was so smooth it was easy to over rev. On the RX-3 it went off at 6500 for a 7000 redline. A friend on mine would take his 12A to about 9000 shifts and the buzzer would never turn off because he was already over 6500 for the next gear! The redline in a rotary is not as big a deal as with an "all valves a floating" piston engine. Going beyond redline can be used to get in the best zone for the next gear without too much worry. Still I don't shift beyond 8000 as the power peak just drops from there. IMHO

I heard my buzzer when the car was stock, but I can't remember hearing it for a long time. I guess it is possible it still buzzes and I just can't hear it anymore (vented hood, open air intake, dp, mp, greddy pe exhaust make it a bit louder than it was stock). :D

Same here, I haven't heard the buzz since I began modifying the car. I don't know if it's because of the exhaust or that the ECU replacement did something (or I knocked something loose).

I think I'm going to check that out this weekend (it's rainy here today :( ).
