newbie FD buy?

I'm new to the forums.. and I have 2 questions about buying an FD for myself.

1) I've been browsing the forums, sponging up information, and I was wondering.. what should I look for when buying an FD? certain engine conditions, turbo specifics, types of wear and tear I should be looking for?

2) what has to be done to a 13B to make it 500 hp capable? I am not familiar with rotaries at all, so I dont know whats necessary to modify, unlike building the bottom end of a regular piston engine.

just a newbie looking for advice.. my last car was wrecked when someone I know borrrowed it and crashed on the way home.

1) Make sure there is no/minimal rust. Buy one with a clean title dont know much other than that.

2)Fuel, Engine Management, Big Single Turbo (or maybe aftermarket twins?) I/C, Radiator, Full exhaust and more

i just got a 94 recently and the major things ive learned to look for through people who have had them before is mileage...a fd with 70000 miles on it will need in the next 5000 to 30000 for the apex seals to be replaced , sooner if the person has drove the car pretty hard. i got mine and it had a pretty good oil leak on the oil pan, and if you dont take care of things like this you can blow it sooooo easy. cooling problems, oil pressure problems are common for higher mile fd's. these are amazing cars, with amazing potential so dont let these things get you down...take car of your car and it will treat you even better. for high power info goto... www.pettitracing.com www.banzairacing.com www.robrobinette.com www.shaneracing.com

I've been looking at one with 118000 miles on it.. apparently the engine has been modified with hks components, and the motor only has 30k on it. its listed as running rich as well. I'm trying to get into contact with the seller, and trying to get a slot to see the car. I know about replacing seals, but besides that, are there any internals that have to be changed for upped hp #'s?

go the FAQ sticky in the 3rd gen section (4th from the top), find the link for the buyers guide and read.
