Evening all.

I currently drive a 1996 Autech Serie Pulsar, but am looking into the world of the Gen3, purely because they look stunning and I can't get my mind off them.

I have heard numerous stories about them being naff, but I don't think this is the case if you look after your car (which I do). I'm very much into detailing and making my car look the best it can, here's a snap of it after a full machine polish with my Porter Cable, CK glaze and Collinite wax.

It may look like an Almera, but it's a Japanese import Pulsar, N/A SR20DE with forged pistons, cams etc. The car in that photo is totally standard, that's the Autech body kit, I love it, but it might be a bit whacky for some of you.

If you would be so kind as to inform me about MPG and general bits and bobs that go ka-putt that'd be great.

I'd be looking for a Silver Gen 3, but I'd like to know more about them before I was to go and look at anything.

It'd have to be a twin tubby manual also. :icon_tup:

If this comes up the way I'm hoping I can see my wallet being drained :lol:

Thanks, I've read through, but doesn't really inform me about MPG.

I'm in the UK, on about £20k a year, do you think this is a suitable amount to run the Gen 3?

The other option is an Import Silvia RPS13, they're about the same to buy, but running costs would tip it, though I want the RX a LOT more because of the look.

You'd have to do the math, but most stock FDs get between 15-20mpg.

Hmmm. I know 20k a year in the US wont support and FD as a daily driver. at least not to the level that they need to be maintained for years of problem free usage.

Your car looks great by the way.

Quick question for you. will you be keeping the pulsar? if so, if you can hack it to get an FD, then do it. if it will be your daily driver, please think long and hard as to the problematic nature of an improperly maintained FD. Not saying you wouldnt take care of her... but you never know what the previous owner did... or didnt do.

Well it would be $40k - I'm in the UK, so £20k in the UK.

I live a few miles from work, so it would be a weekend toy I think. I wouldn't be keeping the Pulsar, it would go towards the RX.

If it wasn't an RX it'd be a 300bhp Silvia, so it would be as bad on fuel. :scared:

The RX looks 100 times better and I think I like them more than the S15 (which was my dream motor). :icon_tup:

Around town you can expect 10 mpg. Up to as much as 25 on the highway.
