Newbe Needs Non Seq Help

Hi i kind of need a little help.

I just got my first RX-7 and i put it together NON SEQUENTIAL. the car starts right up. it is idleing around 875-950.

the car has all boltons and a PFC

but if i give it gas there is a complete fuel cut at 2000 RPM. anayone experience something similiar to this in there car. Please any help would help alot thanks.

r you running ''poormans'' or ''richmans'' version? i just converted mine to richmans, had lots of boost problems with stk setup, but richmans is working like an rx7 should feel. i've read lots of downfalls if going poormans, could be one of the wired open actuators came apart?

no it is richmans. i got everything welded up right.

i checked all my vac. lines just stumped

When you say "put it together", what does that entail?

ONE_BAD_7 08-03-08 11:57 AM

i mean i went with a richmans NON sequential set up that is on rotoaryressurection.com.

i checked for boost leaks, the injector duty says 0 percent when i come around 2000rpm. im just unsure what else to look for. could it be a ground or anything like that???

So, the car was working perfectly before you did the conversion?

i got car as roller, installed new motor with sequential. ran fine then S.V. and vac lines melted and i switched to NS

i would retrace your steps, if it ran good just before u did the swap, then it happened, i would think maybe u missed something? trust me i'm no guru, i just finished mine by the same directions & luckily it works

could it be a vac leak. or a tune issue?

im gonna go over it when it stops raining

You shouldn't require a different tune just to switch to non-seq. Not to say you couldn't optimize you tune for non-seq but the car should run fine without doing so (if it ran before the change) . Basically, I would start by looking everywhere you were working. i.e. make sure the injector clips are connected and snapped in place, etc.

You should also be able to check the PFC commander for other diagnostic info as well.
