Can see pic. Damnit!
Fixed?
they look awesome :)
Do you think I should paint the inside of the rims a gun metal grey color leaving the lips polished? I like that type of look .
They look alright. Not the best, but then again, it's not the worst. How much did u pay for them?
I got them at wholesale price through a car dealer i often do work for. 225 40 18 front , 235 40 18 rear , mounted balanced and shipped for $850
looks ok in the pic. i personally would have gotten wider rims and tires, but its up to you.
I was considering the ADR msport wheels in 18x8 in the front and 18x10 in the rear but i cant find a good deal on them , Ill run these for a while and probably sell them . They fit so many cars its rediculous.
I'd rather have stock rims.
stock rims??? kidding me??? keep those, they look good and im sure they help for gripping the road.

Hehe , I like em , I think it makes the car look better than the stock wheels , but thats a matter of personal taste , some like em some dont.

Yeah, he took some flames already for not getting wider with 18", but its taste.
Hey, give us a shot in daylight :). I can't get a good idea of where the tire ends and the wheelwell begins, because of the light, if you know what I mean. |

i'll give you an A for effort.
Rims are nice and you got a good price. Would have been nicer with some 275's in the back.
I will be sure and take a pic when the sun comes out , been miserable all week here so far hopefully tommorrow this rain will quit. It sounds cheasy and you always hear this but it does look better in person , I have gotten a few compliments as well as the usaul "man you need wider tires in the rear " . Im not a street racer (yet) so for now they are doing just fine. I appreciate the constructive criticism (spelling?) , its good to hear everyones veiwpoint thats what makes a great forum.
You already got my comments in the other thread....:)
i wonder how much those slow thow the car down. They look good on the car, but a wider and lighter rim would have been more suited for an FD.
Some people could care less about how much grip they have. If you don't autocross or act like an idiot on the road, what's the point in having huge rear tires??? They cost more, and you get worse gas mileage.
The rims aren't bad at all. |

Thats good for you. But not needed for some poeple.

The handling of the car will be reduced compared to stock. Period. BTW, who the f*#k cares about gas mileage with this car? |
You know, colors were made just for tastes, thats a spanish figure of speech, don't know if it worked well in english, but If you like it (which you obviously do because you put them on and posted them here) then you did a great jobn, and a pretty good price too. I don't like them for me, but I can't say that they look bad.

Period. BTW, who the f*#k cares about gas mileage with this car? Reading comprehension is your friend. Did I say that was how I thought??? I am just saying not everyone cares how fast they can go or how fast they can take the next bend in the road. Plus with gas reaching $2.50 here in So Cal, I would understand if people started worrying about the gas mileage. Believe it or not, not everyone buys a car for the performance aspect. Maybe you don't agree with that but to call them an idiot because of it really shows something. I personally don't need a huge rear tire on my car, but I wouldn't put something on my car that would lower the performance level that at stock. |

Hehe , Im stirring up a nest, as far as performance goes , It feels better than it did with the stock setup , it feels more solid on the road and bites just as well if not better than the way it was . I used to slip and slide whilst taking off in the rain and now it does it much less. All it boils down to is how you use the car . It might make some of you sleep better knowing that I will be getting wider wheels in the future and my friend with a maxima said hed buy my wheels I have now if I ever wanted to sell them , all is well in mazdaland .

Don't let these RX7 purists stop you from making your car what YOU want. |
Originally posted by rynberg If you care about gas mileage, this isn't the right car for you. For people who didn't buy the car for performance aspect of it, with a concern of gas mileage I'd say should have bought a miata. Even a camaro/rustang etc would roast the hides on a 18x7.5 with ease, if not with more ease. As much as I hate to admit it, back in the day(way back in the day before the forum was around) when I knew nothing of rims I had a similar combo and to be truthfully honest it was the worst thing to do but the rim shop I went to told me they would fit, they did fit, just didn't fill the wells if you know what I mean. The car handled like shit, looked like shit, and overall when I put the stock wheels back on the car I was like "Woah, should've done this a long time ago". The difference in handling from a 18x7.5 40 series tire to a stock wheel/tire combo is amazing and I too would rather have the stock. Anyone who says different hasn't experianced the difference between the two. From experiance do it right the first time. |
fact is not everyone buys the car for the same reason you did. if you feel like it was an improvement for your style of driving then it was an upgrade.
