new street ported engine...???

Hi Guys...
Just got about 500 km on the newly rebuilt engine. My engine
builder says keep it under 5000 rpm for the first 1500 kms.
I'm running Hurley 3mm seals w/street port. Why 1500 kms?
Should I once in a while open-er right up. i find the first turbo getting a little boring.
With his Street Porting he claims I should have 12 in/hg of vaccuum at 900 rpm idle.
Is this a major street port? I thought most porting should yeild
14 - 15 in/hg at idle?
any thoughts at all? can't wait to get to 1500 km... jc:cool:

take your time man...I waited...so did the other boys....be patient...your engine will only behave as well as you break it in.

I didnt go over 3500...so there....and mine runs sweet now.

patience.

Change your oil FREQUENTLY too! Once at 500 miles and again at 1500 miles. You won't be sorry you did in the long run.

Thanks for the replies...

Does the street port make the 3000 hesitation when cold worse...?
It seems to be bucking and hesitating a little more since the
engine rebuild. jack

In any case, just get a whole new ECU so you won't even have to worry about that anymore.
