New owner of a SUPER CLEAN FD3
I am a very proud owner of a SUPER CLEAN FD3.

Why, when i am in gears over second, the car starts to shudder back and forth when moving? I know that the revs are kept low.... 2. I love hearingthe BOV and therefore I constantly rev high in order to built pressure in the system. It's like an addiction. Is this harmful for the engine? 3. Am I safe by using normal unleaded fuel from the petrol station? Or am I require to add any booster to the fuel? |
My spider senses tell me this thread will go downhill very quickly...

1. Possibly groundings, but I don't know enough to know.
2. :banghead: 3. As far as fuel from the pump, use premium. |
here ya go... Read this once, then read it again:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/faq-3rd-gen-other-useful-links-68640/ Just a warning: if you post very basic knowledge questions be prepared to be flamed. Questions like #2 (Which for a reason I'm not answering :D) |
Nice FD but it almost pains me that you would buy an rx7 with doing little to no research before hand, i mean at least know what you should be filling it up with to make it run healthy. #1 could be a number of things from your description, a lot of turbo vehicles have a shuttering feeling to them when building boost. Dont know how aggressive the shutter is your talking about but if its terrible it could be a number of things, i know nothing about your car who knows, maybe poor boost patterns, bad tune ect. but my bet is just the turbos spoiling. #2 This is not a question i would have asked.....but think about it like this, do you think rev'ing your engine high and then letting out the pressure till it goes back down and then flooring it again and repeating this over and over could be stressful for your car? come on bro.....these cars are not eagle talons and srt-4's respect them and they will respect you back. #3 premium on just about every turbo car is a must and for an fd you may want to look into premixing your fuel, a lot of people swear by it. Your clearly new to the forum so hears some helpful advice, read the link montego posted, if its to much for you, use the search tool. Question number 3 could have easily been answered by just searching in the 3rd gen section with the key words fuel and browse threw some titles with no embarrassment.
