New oil change procedure??
 

I was told over this past weekend that when doing an oil change i should disconnect the coils and turn the motor over for a few seconds to pump oil back to the turbos before cranking the car back up...
Does anyone else do this? You obviously can't do this every morning just because your cars been sitting over nite and the oil has drained from your turbos. So what's the difference?

I don't think there's a need to do all that. All I do to get the oil flowing back through the car is run it for a couple of minute's and let it get hot. That should give it plenty of time to let the oil flow back through the turbos. Nick

ive always given the starter a couple of quick jolts with the key. kind of like on-off, on-off, etc. until i feel its okay. look at your oil pressure guage when you are starting. that will help you. of course you really dont need to do this at all if you use a high end synthetic!!!

Every time I change the oil I always hold the gaspedal to the floor and let her crank for 5-10 secs just to get a flow.But I am not sure if it needs to be done but hey it cant hurt:)

Just fill up the oil filter with 1/8 qt of oil before you put it on. That'll keep some oil in the filter and prevent 'cold' startup with the oil has to first fill up the filter before lubricating the engine.

Thanks guys.. i've never thought it was a problem but this guy blamed my oil changing as the reason they have a ton of blow by right now... like the 160K miles has nothing to do with it!

And i will be using full synthetic instead of blend with the new turbos.
