new motor no spark

So today I finshed the install of my new motor. After a few tries to start it I found I have no spark output. I do how ever have a tach signal on the commander? What other signals do I need for a spark output? I think it might be in my harness, because the wire got moved around and it sparked one time then stopped again?

Have you checked your fuses to make sure none are blown? Do you have your relays in place (some people pull the EGI to prime the system so it's not hard to forget to put it back).

I ckecked all my fuses... And even tried relays out of another fd.

Ok, exactly how have you found out you have no spark?

Have you verified you have all the grounds taken care of? There is one on the driver's side (US driver's side) which will cause the car not to fire if it's not grounded. It's usually ground on the A/C bracket or somewhere on the side of the engine near the oil pan line.

/\ this would be a good place to start....

I took a spark plug wire and put a spare plug on it, grounded it out, and cranked the motor.
I checked the ground(I found that in another thread) but its good.
I also called mazda they want 650 for a harness, they can still get it.

+1

If you have the spare coin, it's worth it to replace the engine harness altogether. 15 years in and FD engine bay can take it's toll.

There are two crank angle sensor. A inner and a outer, what do each of them do?

Update... I have spark now, it was in the wiring harness. Thanks for the input!
