In process of buying a '94 RX-7, Black with Tan interior, JM1FD3333R0301994 is the VIN if someone could do a check on it it'd be much appreciated. Just wanted to say hey to everybody and was wondering about how much routine maintenance you all have put into your cars to keep them running. I've seen tons of people who have said the rotary is very unreliable, but in all my dealings, as long as you treat them right, they just keep putting out the power.
Any advice to keep my new 7 running great would be most appreciated. Also, if anyone knows where I can get my hands on a '94 Workshop Factory Manual, I desperately need one.

Thanks!

TMarsland I think it's in your best interest to spend at least 30 minutes or so on these forums daily (this one in particular). I also recently got an rx-7 and this forum has been priceless... in learning both about my car and the car in general.

I would do a search for reliability mods to find some cheap ways to make your car more reliable and give it a little more hp.

Thanks for the advice. I've been reading these forums daily for a couple hours for advice. You're right, there is tons of info around if you just look. I don't suppose anyone could tell me why it says 'Exhaust Leak' by my name? I'm guessing that has to do with the # of posts I've made. Also, can anyone tell me if there's a good rotary shop in South Carolina? THanks a bunch!

Was also wondering if someone could tell me what the ccost would be approximately for 2 slightly used or new stock black leather seats?

Thanks!

The "Exhaust Leak" does have to do with the number of posts you have on this forum. Places like the "Lounge" don't contribute to post counts.

As for the VIN check, post in the VIN Check forum:

As for a shop in the SC area, post in the regional forum:

From what I've seen, you should be able to get 2 good condition stock black leather seats for ~$400-$500. Sounds high, but thats what they've gone for.

Look in the "parts for sale" section for anyone parting out an FD, they should be able to get you the seats.
