Hi!

I had a 1993 rx7 a few years ago, and made some small mods to it (boost gauge, turbo timer, 2-stroke oil in the gas tank..)

It's been a while since I owned one...

Now I am back in the club with my favorite car... :)

I currently own a 1994 RX7 Touring 5 speed, all stock, 30K miles, all original parts.

I live in PA which restricts me from doing mods that would not pass the yearly inspections, so what's recommended?

Is putting 2-stroke in the gas still a good thing?

Where can I find a complete manual in order to work on the car?

Which gauges are recommended to be added (aside from boost)?

Which Turbo Timer is recommended?

What other maintenance parts should I be looking at? Breaks? Shocks? Etc.?

Which oil is recommended for summer time use? (I use to put in 20W50 for summers, and 10W30 for winter in my old '93)

Also I noticed that the IP where the A/C and Stereo are heats up quite a bit (I don't remember it being this way on my old '93) is this normal?

Last but not least: I'm missing the cover for the sun roof and a spare key. Where could I get an original replacement?

I think so, I premix and use the OMP.

I'd recommend getting a coolant temp gauge, the stock one sucks.

None...

Check the FAQ/Search, but those sound good to me for your location.

Welcome back and congrats, I will reiterate to please take advantage of our FAQ thread and stickies.....a lot of work done there to consolidate basic data.

Downpipe, new or aluminum AST, FC thermoswitch, fan mod, or Apexi Power FC. Reliability mods are in the FAQ thread or SEARCH.

Not necessary for street driven cars. The OMP does a fine job on its own. There will always be people who think you need to pre-mix though, so if you want to, it won't hurt anything.

1. boost and water temp are all that is required for normal driving
2. a turbo timer is completely unnecessary and in fact, has ruined motors
3. I don't know, replace what needs replacing. Don't fix it if it ain't broke. :) Some of the suspension bushings may be worn, but at that mileage, it is doubtful that any suspension or brake parts need to be replaced. Tires on the other hand may be dry-rotted or just plain too old.
4. Please read the FAQ. Those choices should be fine, mineral or synthetic.
5. Probably due to the pre-cat, you need a downpipe.

Where in PA are you? You can install a downpipe in every county as far as I know.

For maintenance, consider replacing the coolant hoses, fuel filter, fuel pulsation damper, spark plugs, in addition to all the obvious stuff like coolant changes, diff oil, tranny oil, and engine oil. If in doubt, replace it.

Don't forget fresh spark plugs. The spark plugs (especially the leading plugs) fire much more often than spark plugs used in piston engines, so they will wear out more quickly.
