New Blowoff valve...is a hybrid worth it?
 

I have an Apexi Twin chamber BOV on my RX-7 right now but the engine runs a little too rich. I was thinking of replacing the Apexi with a GFB hybrid BOV so I can adjust it for street use. That way I dont have to run it rich all the time. I'm a little skeptical of it though... Does anyone know about these hybrid BOVs and if they work the way they're supposed to?

How does changing the bov going to affect your air/fuel mixture?

The hybrid doesnt have to let all of the air out, you can adjust it to let some back to the inlet. Either way the air flow meter gets the wrong readings but by letting more air back into the inlet, it wont run as rich as if I were to let all of it out. At least thats the idea.

Sorry about the confusion, I meant the new GFB Hybrid....which is the GFB Stealth FX. It allows you to adjust how much air goes into the inlet and how much goes to the atmoshpere.

The FD uses a MAP sensor instead of a MAF sensor like other cars (i.e. DSMs). So, in other words, the BOV (unless causing a vacuum leak), isn't going to hamper your performance or make you run rich at idle.

Unless you have a wideband O2 sensor, your A/F meter/gauge will not be accurate unless at WOT.
