It never ends... Now car will not turn off
 

Hello,

I have searched, but haven't found anything about this issue on an FD.

So my car was running great and everything was dandy. I ordered a set of coilovers and let the car sit, waiting for them to arrive, for about a week give or take a couple days.

I came outside yesterday to move it out of the way of another car to find a dead battery (Odyssey PC1200 I believe). I jumped the car with a jump box and moved it out of the driveway and then let it idle up to temp before shutting it off. Except it never shut off....

I had to pull the main engine relay/fuse (big yellow cube) in the engine bay. I tried the fuel pump fuse but nothing happened, so I'm thinking maybe previous owner had it hard wired? its a Cosmo 20b pump.

The car does have an HKS Turbo Timer IV (previous owner installed) and a PFC. I did notice that the turbo timer's screen was blank/off after I got the car started, so I couldn't turn it off manually. Also, the second time I jumped it to move it back into the driveway, the PFC Commander screen just said there was an error the whole time and wouldn't display any gauges.

Just for the sake of getting all info out there, it was raining a few of the days the car was sitting outside, but I had the car cover on. Also noticed there was some condensation on the windows inside, but not a lot and its not damp anywhere as far as I can tell.

Any idea why this would happen all of the sudden after the car was sitting for a week? Could the jump start have fried the turbo timer possibly?

Any help appreciated while I try to get to the bottom of this.

It's probably the ignition switch. Or the turbo timer is hella stuck for some reason.

The PFC error I wouldn't' be too upset about, sounds like it had low voltage or something.

Disconnect the battery, charge it up, then see how the car does. If it's still doing the same thing, remove the turbo timer - it has a harness that plugs in between the ignition switch and the main wiring harness. Unplug both ends and plug the main harness back into the ignition switch. If it's still doing the same thing, new ignition switches aren't too pricey.

If it is the turbo timer, just get rid of it.

Thank you very much sir! I will try that when I get home. I really don't like having a turbo timer anyways, so I'll probably just remove it while I'm checking.
I will report back with my findings hopefully tomorrow.

The relay labeled "fuel pump" is actually the fuel pump speed relay. It will still run at 9v without it. The fuel pump relay is actually the green circuit relay.

I've had a bunch of old turbo timers fail over the years. I'd get rid of it before doing anything else.

if it still acts up check the ignition switch.

Even if it isnt the turbo timer, you should still get rid of it. Turbo timers are worthless.

I had to replace that relay that you pulled when mine wouldn't shut off. I temporarily used the AC relay from the box near the hood latch so I could still drive it and ordered a new one. I replaced the ignition switch first and it wasn't the issue.
