It Never Ends

so i replace the intake air themosensor yesterday right. got the uim back on and was putin the elbow for the air intake back on the throtle body and the top front bolt just fuckin broke. So now the elbow isnt air tight and it makes a wistle under boost this is gonna be a fun one to fix. it wasnt even tight and i wasnt even cranking on it hard just turning the nut and the bolt broke right in half

not realy a big deal to fix you just need a new bolt. a pair of vice-grips should twist it out for you with the elbow off

badinfluencemp Sep 26, 2004 08:30 PM

yea i already got hot to fix it i just got to get the time too its not the point of having to fix it. its the princeiple of the whole thing

mad_7tist Sep 26, 2004 08:41 PM

it's a 10mm bolt they dont go on tight man...

fd3s_rx7 Sep 26, 2004 09:47 PM

yeah that happen to me before... Like what mad say use a vice grip to get that stud out.
What I use is a 10 mm bolt to replace...

If you can't get a grip on the broken part, weld a nail to it.

If you've got an autozone nearby get part #329306 - its a replacement stud that is just a hair longer than the stock one. No big deal to replace it as long as you can vice grips the old stud off, I broke two last time I was in there.
