feel free to bash my dad as a rx7 hater

ALPSTA 11-07-09 11:31 AM

Ooops :) It's only dust but it'd be annoyed as well.......

tt7hvn 11-07-09 11:34 AM

my concern was the big long spiked sheer overhanging the car, you can see some of it in the pic

yeah, it's held up by like 2 barely in nails

Zoolander 11-07-09 11:42 AM

Dude....that's hilarious. I was expecting the worse. That's some good comic relief right there! He's quite literal huh?

Nice ride. How are the DC streets on your RX? I use to take mine into town, but not anymore. Not fun at all.

Could have been worse. Coudl have been a pool of coolant under it :)

tt7hvn 11-07-09 12:35 PM

yea, i'm in the marines in DC, so space to work in the car is limited so i asked him to store it for me.....currently stored in NY. i'm home for like a week so i'm gonna take it out and make sure it's still good to go

i never really got to drive the FD in DC. i never really wanted to because the roads are terrible but they just redid the 395

i've always wanted to take the car down GW parkway cuz it was just freshly paved and it has some nicw huge trees overhanging the road. it would just be an awesome drive.

RLaoFD 11-07-09 01:47 PM

My parent's are doing close to the same thing!! I'm lucky they don't have anywhere to hang shears or other potentially aesthetic-threatening things for that matter.

A good wash is all you need. and remember, its nice to be home.

Indian 11-07-09 02:12 PM

guess thats better than leaving it outside in the weather :)

grimple1 11-07-09 02:32 PM

car cover? just a thought :)

Sgtblue 11-07-09 05:23 PM

LOL, I feel your pain. My Dad wanted to sit in my car a few years ago. He was was ~ 78 at the time, and when he got out he put his hand through the cover on the door cubby. Eh...what you do? Just be glad we our got Dads around.

catch-22 11-07-09 08:08 PM

At least a bookshelf full of oil and coolant and misc nuts, bolts, and wiring supplies didnt fall on your hood :(

1QWIK7 11-07-09 09:45 PM

Wow, i would be totally mad but how how you didnt store it yourself before you left?

Its one thing to forget to put the cover on or to completely barricade the car with stuff but to put stuff ON TOP of the car? Thats not right.

wickedrx7 11-07-09 10:02 PM

The two biggest dents in my car are from my dad and my friends dad where I keep my car. I swear, no respect for the seven.

arghx 11-08-09 07:39 AM

I did my motor build in my parents garage last year, before I rented a garage. My mom went nuts at this time and kept getting more and more cats... I had cat hair and paw prints all over the thing for months.

tt7hvn 11-08-09 08:08 AM

i did everything myself, he didn't even help me move the stuff out of the way that was there before which i anticipated so i was running a little behind on time so i put it in there and then asked him simply to put the car cover on

I can see why you are pissed given that there are boxes on top of the car. I'd be upset about that too.

But the cover takes one minute to put on. Honestly it's your car and your responsibility also he shouldn't help move boxes. I mean dude you are taking up his garage space. I'd say consider yourself lucky that you are not paying storage fees instead.

Natey 11-09-09 11:25 AM

Maybe that's a cover rolled up next to the box on the roof.

"Yeah yeah, sure sure, I'll put the cover on the car...Done."

tt7hvn 11-09-09 01:09 PM

that is the car cover on the top of the car

and it's not his garage; it a barn he owns like a 1/2 mile away from the house

but he is just a ridiculous packrat, he has the whole barn full of........junk

Montego 11-09-09 01:19 PM

Hey got any pictures of your ride? looks kinda nice ignoring the dirt.

What wheels are those? 77wolf maybe?

kyleaudio 11-09-09 03:24 PM

I feel your pain, when i left for japan for about 3 years (i'm on the navy and my ship was stationed over there), my dad said it was fine if keep my FC in the garage so i said ok. when i came back it was parked outside, the paint was very oxidized because he didnt wax it or put a cover on or even touch it (surprising because he is always very good with maintenance and keeping up on waxing his car). he said that he wanted more room for the lawnmower... just a few months ago he bought an eclipse and that lives in the garage, that thing is even bigger then my fc! oh well...

7dust 11-09-09 03:39 PM

Consider yourself lucky that you have free storage at all. My Dad's garage hasn't seen a car in it since 1983.

Quit your bitchin and get your shit out of his garage so he can put more junk in there.

Geez.
