Need some serious help!

Alright, so i'm very close to buying a 93 rx-7 from a dealer ship.
It has around 80k miles and looks like it's in great shape.
So I call today asking about the car and it turns out it doesn't even run.
All he told me is that the seals are blown in it and in about two weeks hell call me back when they fix them.

So my first question is: how could this happen?
after they are fixed, what problems could I be facing down the road because of it?

The 93' rx-7 is basically my dream car, yet I know very little about it. So i'm trying to find an rx-7 around 13k. I'm trying to sell my chrysler crossfire, the payments are unbareable and I don't enjoy the car at all.

Any help or knowledge you can pass onto me would be greatly appreciated. the 93' will be my next car, it's just a matter of finding the right one!

Please and thank you.

Engines blow all the time. Do some searches, this is a very common topic. Read the stickies. Since they will be pretty much rebuilding the engine to an as-new condition there shouldn't be any downstream consequences.

Uh...yeah. If you are going to OWN one of these cars, you MUST understand them.
The 13BREW twin-turbo engine is known to have a host of issues that will either make or break the owner.
You simply MUST do some research...no a LOT of research before considering buying these cars! You simply do not drive these cars like you do your Crossfire, for example. Frankly, they are not even really suitable as daily drivers, okay?
Read...read....READ the stickies and every single post in this section, and then ask yourself if you REALLY want one.

rx 7

Iv'e been doing a good deal of research and I'm continuing to do so.
I have a couple of sites in my favorites to teach me about the car intself. as far as taking care of the car, I think I have the basics down.
But I need to know more from people with a great ammount of experience with the vehicle. I'm willing to spend as much time on it as possible.
