need some help please?
 

i was in the process of changing out my fan switch and i accidentally broke the electrical connector directly above it (green two wire connector). what is that for and which way do the wires go back on it, or does it matter. one seems to be ground and other seems to be power. any help would be great

thanks! do you know how it is wired cause the connector actually broke and i had so much crud on the wires i didn't know what color went where.

if you have a multimeter, and you think one of these wires are ground. choose continuity mode on the meter and check each wire to ground, if you hear a beep thats the ground wire.
