Need more headroom! Seat suggestions?

I'm not too small (6'ish, 220ish) so when sitting in a proper driving position I've got some headroom issues. Without a helmet on they aren't too noticable but after adding that bit on the top of my head it gets really cozy.

I'm looking for something that is still adjustable front/back (it would be nice to keep it more than a one driver car) but it doesn't need to recline.

I'd ideally like to pickup 2" or so of room and still be able to drive on our wonderfully smooth California freeways without bruising my kidneys.

Do you have a sunroof?

Yeah its a '93 Touring. Opening it and sticking my head out doesn't exactly work as the moonroof isn't straight above where my head is in driving position.

You might PM "RTS3GEN". He has a '93 Touring with (I think) one of the Sparco seats. He's also a big guy and his seat allows him a good seating position with a helmet.

I can't remember which seat he is using or else I would just post it. :)

I've also heard of Corbeau doing custom seats for people (as in removing foam from the seats).

I am 6'3" tall and I have the same problem. I have absolutely no problems with head room every day driving but when it comes time to put on the helmet it is tight. I have done a lot of searching and I found that one of the best seats is the Corbeau A4. The fitment is supposedly good and they can remove/add foam where you need it to raise or lower your position. The seat still keeps all the stock features and they are not too expensive. I hope this helps a little.

What seat is Art using?

At a reasonable price point, I don't think the Corbeaus can be beat. Althought, I would strongly recommend getting the CR-1 over the A4, as it is more supportive and has a much higher quality fabric on it. Either seat should sit a bit lower than the stock seats.

The Recaro SPG is awesome if you have the cash.
