need to know your oppinion of boost controller

all,

among these below are the famous boost controller on sale in my country. based on your experience, which boost controller suits our stock twins the most.., in term of functionality, which one is the best and suits our application. oh yeah. this for FD with ported motors....downpipe, midpipe, cat back, intake, powerfc.

price wise, from top to bottom (top the most expensive)

1. HKS EVCS 5
2. BLITZ SBCi color
3. APEXI AVC-R black
4. BLITZ SBC-R spec
5. Blitz SBC Type R
6. GREDDY PROFEC B spec 2

if this is your first boost controller get a simple unit and learn how to use it. boost controllers have pretty much the same functions but its primary function of regulating boost is whats important. there is lots of support on the profec b spec 2 on this forum just so you know.

another ver good boost controller not mentioned up there is the turbosmart elect. boost controller.

I personally have used an AVC-R and a Blitz Dual SBC.

My pick from the 2 of those is the Apexi AVC-R as the features it provides are far superior. The Blitz is alot easier to set up and get working but doesnt do much more then control boost. The AVC-R however monitors many variables provided to it from the ECU, including injector duty, rpm, speed, etc etc. The benefit of it collecting all this information is that it allows you to adjust your boost curve to however you want it.

For instance i had one curve setup for wet weather (boost built slowly and smoothly) and the other was setup of for the dry (fast building of boost and quite sudden).

I cannot comment on any of the others however.

that's an interesting comment there...for AVCR... i've seen the Dual SBC as well... it's very simple plain controller.

based on my research, profec B is far more cheaper than the rest... :) that does nothing but just regulate boost as well.

keep the experience coming... i wanna hear more about it :)

i found a PFC boost control kit....an extension for my PFC...
will that be able to control my boost like what the rest of the controller does ?

i have a blitz sbc id and have had nothing but problem after problem with it, going to upgrade to the hks evc 6 very very soon

i'll move my new question to a new thread :) to prevent misunderstanding :)

My experience with the power fc boost controllers is that they are to put it bluntly... Crap!

I wouldnt use it, better off getting someting that is deicated to controlling the boost.
