Need Help Quick!

I know this is the wrong section, but I would say this section gets lots of views and this is on my 3rd gen. I am trying to get these wheels off my car, the ones that came on the car, but a normal socket won't fit on the lugs. How the hell do I get them off? They are too close to the wheel as you can see in the pics.

there are special sockets that are usually sold with the wheels that will take the lug nuts off (unless the wrong lug nuts were used). you can pick them up at your local custom wheel shop or just have them take the wheels off for you. nevertheless, get one because you'll need it when you get a flat. good luck!

some custom wheels require custom lug nuts. if this is the case with your wheel and the wrong lug nuts were used then you don't have any option but to cut the lug nuts off.

You sure that inner ring doesn't pop off also?

EDIT/ Above beat me to the post:
HTF did they get the wrong lugs on???

I have ADR rims as well and it has a special lug nut tool that you have to use. Might try to call ADR up directly for one, if not, try tirerack.com or Discount Tire.

I think those are gorilla lugs. they sell the socket with the lugs but the socket is unirversal with all there lugs.

So it is a special wrench that I need?

yup, i think the gorilla socket that oorx7 is talking about might not fit as this tool is used as a universal tool and not wheel specific.

wrex has these wheels and confirms that they have a special tool........therefore good luck finiding it!

rotorsownyou7 Dec 27, 2004 12:27 PM

Anyone know where I can get this wrench?

wReX Dec 27, 2004 01:09 PM

Not sure where you can get one, I suggest you just start making some phone calls to ADR or those tire places I mentioned earlier.

I've had the same setup. I believe it went when i sold my last car. But that socket someone posted is identical to what you need...

rotorsownyou7 Dec 27, 2004 01:21 PM

Thanks guys, if anybody has nothing to do, see if you can help me find it, I'm getting on the phone now.

rotorsownyou7 Dec 27, 2004 02:29 PM

I looked at the gorilla sockets and they don't look the same. I just need something that works!

What you need to do is to figure out who makes the lug nuts which were used. That will lead you to the socket tool you need.

Other wise, you can try to find a "thin walled deep socket" which will fit just enough on there (with the tap of a hammer) to break them loose.

Which one do I need, all of those lugs look wierd, andthe pics don't really tell or show what are like. I would buy that set if it will work for sure.

HAHA, got one at the local tire place. It did say gorilla on it, and so did the lugs.

oorx7 Dec 28, 2004 03:29 PM
