Need help installing a Boost Controller
 

I want to install a Boost Controller, can anyone help me (give me step by step instructions) on how I can go about doing this?

do you already have one?

and do you have stock ecu, unfortunately you cant really raise boost AT ALL with the stock ecu and without a tune.

i made a manual boost crontroller from home depot for 10$ but i have the PFC so i can tune for it.

Do I need to have an ECU just yet? I plan on getin one when i have the money. The Boost Controller that I got is also known as a bleed valve, it's a manual boost controller from the engine bay. i have a few friends that have had boost controllers but did not have ECU's and there was no problem.

Whateva mate, you wana be a hater, be a hater somwhere else. What else am I suppose to put in the title "installing a boost controller" people are gona think thats the answer, when really it is the question. and for your information I have looked at other places and I cannot find information that helps me successfuly complete the installation.

Did you try searching? there are 10 pages on boost controllers on the 3rd Gen forum alone. Not to mention a boost controller link in the FAQ

Boost controller + stock ECU = blown motor. RX7 != piston car.

to help the OP, if you have the stock ecu, you can run just fine with the "stock restrictor pills" installed. Unless you have intake and/or exhaust mods that will increase airflow and potential boost creep, the pills work pretty good for controlling stock boost levels.

The pills go into the Wastegate control and Turbo precontrol lines just below the primary turbo intake inlet.

Take a look through the FAQ's and learn about this. the for sale parts section could find people who still have their stock pills for cheap ($30).

Or a setup like Damian's is pretty good too :)

Lets get some more information on your setup MATE! Why are you installing a boost controller? Are you having problems controlling the boosts? You need to provide more information on what problems you are having.

I run a stock ECU with manual boost controllers. I use them because the stock solenoids run over 11psi with my mods and the stock ECU is good for up to 10-11psi at most.

There are several setups you can run, and some boost controllers come with diagrams specifically for this car. That's why you won't find a single "how-to" on this subject. There are many types of controllers and many ways to configure them. In any case, the important thing is to start with the controller set WIDE OPEN, so that you begin with wastegate spring boost pressure. Then you slowly close down the controller settings until you elevate the boost to the proper level. Don't get impatient and move too quickly.

Good point. I initially installed a boost controller to lower my boost as well. The wastegate spring is set for 7psi so if you bypass the bleeders on the PCA and wastegate actuators, you can effectively control your boost as low as 7psi. Here's the diagram I used from the forum (Version 2). Don't remember who to give credit to for this though:
