Bought these from another member a long time ago. He said they were BNRs but upon arrival, they don't match up with BNR3s at all.

Compressor wheel doesnt look the same as BNR website and does not use BNRs modified ypipe.

Compressor wheels are not stock and the only markings are NA31 on the primary and NC31 on the secondary.
So im guessing it some sort of stock housing modified compressor wheel turbos. Debating if I should try them for fun.

Wastegate and precontrol actuators look like they have the same coating as the BNRs, but as far as I'm aware they've all had the 10mm extension on the Y and the wheels and modified housings do look different to the ones he was selling 15 years ago, which had a radiused transition.

Debris down the compressor outlet and exposed oil feed would have me a touch nervous if they've been in a dirty environment.

Could be older BNR's, he's been upgrading them for YEARS and they've changed a number of times.

The N3C1/N3A1 is the Mazda part numbers for the turbos originally. No relationship to the upgrade that was done on them.

Could have also been done by a turbo shop, I know back in the day many turbo shops would upgrade wheels on stock turbos to make more power.

Really hard to say.

Since the stock y-pipe works then they use the original HT12 CHRA's and it isn't the current Stage 3 upgrade. BNR has changed/discontinued some FC turbo offerings so it may be the same for the twins.

Pull off a compressor cover and measure the compressor diameters to figure out what it is.

I would call/email BNR and ask them. They may be able to identify them and if not give you some advice on what you have. They've seen a lot of the other upgrades done on stock twins.

Wheels are definitely different. Looks like the newer version's (3KAI) style of wheel, but could be anything. Maybe they're knightsports or similar? I believe the KS 420 twins use the stock y-pipe.
