this is the only info i can find but no help for FDs http://www.takakaira.com/asp/templat...TtPqQqlnMokrNm |
I thought the Power FC had a rev limiter built in?
|
if you read the link this thing has the wonderful ability to shoot flames out of your exhaust.
but yes, the pfc can control the rev limit. look under settings, it's in there. "What is REV LIMITER? The unique REV LIMITER from Power Builder Bee Racing is a device where a driver can use to prevent a vehicle's engine from being over rev. All parameter adjustments on this device can be made on the fly from the driver's seat. This REV LIMITER is achieved by cutting off the ignition at a preset RPM limit, and by re-routing a fuel dump. An aural feedback of back fire popping sound from the exhaust muffler is the result followed by a fantastic visual of fire coming out from the exhaust muffler tip. This aural & visual feedback are very similar to those experienced in the fully race-tuned race cars . Is it really safe to use REV LIMITER? The rev limiter in the vehicle is controlled by the factory ECU by instructing the fuel pump to immediately stop the fuel supply to the engine. Such immediate forced fuel cut is not advisable if it happens frequently as it has damaging effects to the engine in the long run. On the other hand, with Power Builder Bee Racing's REV LIMITER, it actually cut off the engine ignition without stopping the fuel supply to the engine. With this function, over rev limit damage to the engine is prevented, and is a safer way in the long run when the engine is over revved" |
i know the power fc has a limiter. i got the bee r limiter of a mate for free. and im gonao fit it for 2 reason
1. see if it helps launchs 2. the odd flame here and there:rlaugh: 3. anti thieft. set it stupidly low so IF any one trys robbing my car they wont get very far and will make a hela lot of noise:lol: so anyone know how to fit it? |
From site.
"The REV LIMITER uses the ground signal to cut off the ignition signal from the ECU. Since APEXi Power FC is a piggy back computer, and manipulates the original engine parameters' signals from the ECU before re-routing these modified signals to the vehicle individual engine components, a separate grounding signal is required from the APEXi Power FC" Piggy back???? Thats pretty funny. |
So basically, hook it up like you would if your car had a normal ecu. They obviously don't know what the hell they're talking about and I'd be wary of actually using that thing.
|
however you phrase it the pfc *is not* a piggyback. it is a stand alone and completely replaces the stock ecu. i wouldn't mess with this thing, but good luck if you do.
|
somebody has to know how you fit it? i dont wana here the its gona wreck your car thing, just how do i fit it?:icon_tup:

You can get flames without the unit. My car spits them all the time. 3. THE POWER-FC already does this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

1. It won't help you launch, that is called a two-step.

So you're aware that the Power FC does the same thing, you just want to shoot fireballs out of the exhaust. You sir, are a fucking ricer.
|
welcome to the forum
hi, i am davin :-D just hook it up like you normally would. i am thinking of getting the FJO injector computer thing and peripherals will just take over and control what they are intended to do |
irish they are trying to help you from maybe a blown motor or from you doing something you may regret and they may sound cruel. but fire out the exhust isnt ricer unless it happens when your not even trying and going slow or something. i really dont believe it will help launches. IMO i would just stick with a pfc and if you want flames there is a thread somewhere that tells you how to set the pfc to do so.. your car, you do what you want, they just dont want to see another
BLOW MOTOR thread |

WTF are you talking about. The PFC is "NOT" a piggy back computer.

Has anyone successfully hooked up the Bee-R limiter with a power FC?
Bee-R is an ignition cut which is safer than i fuel cut is what im getting so far from this. |
i rember reading some where that someone used one of thes and blew his motor i would becareful using this
|
Start the poor RX-7 up from dead cold, first thing in the morning.
Instead of letting it idle to warm up, punch the throttle wide open to the limiter while it's still on its cold start enrichment choke map. If you have a straight thru muffler, you'll see some fire and some pops and bangs. And it will be just as hard on your engine as the BEE R limiter, but cost you nothing ;) |
