NEED HELP...coolant light on but normal temps!!
 

hey tonight i was driving and my "add coolant" light went on along with the stupid beep sound....my pfc reads normal temps..the gauge was in same spot...not sure what it is...i checked the oil..was a little low and added in some...but still no change....some one let me know!!!! my wtr temps are 80's C and when idleing it cant reach 90's C and on hot days my touch on 100' C....help me out!!

Ummm........when the light comes on, and you get the idiot noise.....it usually means you need to add coolant, since the "add coolant" light came on. Yea the the temp won't go up instantly, but the longer you drive without it, I'm pretty sure the temp will go up.....so when you get the chance, add coolant to your car. I've been through this already with my 91. Sorry, I'm not in the 3rd gen bunch.

Edit; and oil has nothing to do with the coolant light.....assumption. Isn't there an oil light on the 3rd gens?

Yes there's an oil light. The buzzer is a level sensor. Doesn't mean that you're completely out of coolant. Best thing to do is make the next possible stop and let it cool off and fill it back up.

and if that doesn't help, check the sensor. It's right below the filler cap on the front side of the housing. Make sure the connector is well seated and that the sensor is well grounded to the housing.

ok thanks...im probably going to flush the coolant and just refill...and yea if that doesnt work ill take a lok at the sensor
