Need advice on this guys

Alright so I know for a fact that my cat is clogged and my turbo is getting some back spin which isn't good at all. I need to replace my stock down pipe and my cat.

Do you guys think I should buy a down pipe and get a new Catalic Converter to weld on my old one

OR

should I go for the down pipe and mid pipe to get rid of both cats?

Get a downpipe first and see if that solves the problem. If your main cat is bad, too, buy a bolt-in one that already has a pipe. You can't weld a new cat into the stock "mid" pipe -- you need a whole new pipe.

Watch out for running lean if you have a lot of other mods. Be especially careful if you go with a midpipe (you'll need an ECU and might get boost creep).

I would say go with a down pipe first too and see what that does for you. If your cat is screwed up you can always go with a bolt on high flo one such as the bonez.

Downpipe and a high flow cat.

www.gothamracing.com is my shop of choice for such things.. Rich and Steve are great guys.

Yeah the guys at gotham are good. I would use them or talk to Chris at RX7.com

I'm voting to go with the dp and high flow cat as well, it definitely helps for smog purposes and keeps some back pressure to avoid the ever dreaded leaning out. Good luck with your decision. Josh

yea, sounds like a good excuse to get a dp and high flow cat.

What if I got a boost controller and got a mid pipe instead of a highflow cat? Im thinking about the dp and mid pipe combp thats why...

Downpipe for sure, but the Midpipe would depend whether or not you have to deal with emissions testing or not.

we 7s in the city never pass emissions so all our emissions and air pump has been taken out, we have to pay our way through to get inspected.

so Mahjik ur basically saying dont get a mid pipe unless I have ported the waste gate. I see, understandble I believe I will be replacing my cat and get a down pipe.

Does anyone knoe if the ebay down pipes work and fit alright?

Really? Wow that's a bummer, sorry to hear that. Guess I would have the same problem if Iowa had emissions.
