Need advice, considering buying RX-7
Hey guys, I went to look at a '93 RX-7 today. The dealer wants $10900 for it. It's the base model, seemed in good condition, automatic tranny, 75000 miles. Do you think this a reasonable price?

Take a test drive, and follow the advise from some of the FD FAQs around: http://www.scuderiaciriani.com/rx7/buying.html |
Thanks.
Also it's a touring model, not base. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure I want it because of the auto...I love driving my current manual and I don't know if I could go to auto.... :( I still think this is a good deal though. Any other input would be great! Thanks. |

hold on!!!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Tucson arizona too. If your talking about that silver rx7 at fun stuff don't buy it!!!! I went to Jays place. The rx7 tuner in Tucson and he said he looked at that car for the dealership and he says it has plenty of problems. I'm not sure want the problems are, but he told me to stay away from it.

I can do one better...
I have driven that car and it...well...it has issues. I know that car has been there forever and that the owner of that lot just buys cars and sticks them on the lot. He doesn't usually have things fixed if a car isn't running right. He just sells it as is. Oh....It needs a full brake job to. Looks like there was hail damage to the hood as well.

Hey, here's the best thing to do:
Get the new Sport Compact Car. They have a guide to purchasing a 3rd gen RX-7. It's got everything you need to know about recalls, mileage, condition, prices, etc. Don't get an auto. Oh here's good advice: Get an RX with really really low original miles, or find out that just had the motor replaced. Don't buy one with over 60k on the original motor or you're going to be out $5000 relatively soon. |
