Name that stud: Stock Turbo Exhaust "Brick" Edition

Hi gang,
Trying to figure out the studs needed for "the Brick" - I know there are only 2 different thread sizes, but I noticed that the studs are all different lengths. I checked the factory service manual but I can't seem to find it. I also searched, but people only talk about the thread size (never the length)... I know the sizes are either M10x1.5 or M8x1.25 but I don't know all the specific lengths. So here we go...let's play NAME THAT STUD! I've lettered-off all the studs in the pic (ignore the broken one...haha) so lets see who can list the thread size, pitch & length of the stud that is supposed to go in each hole... Letter | Thread Size | Thread Pitch | Stud Length A | 10mm | 1.5 | _____? B | 8mm | 1.25 | _____? C | 8mm | 1.25 | _____? D | 10mm | 1.5 | _____? E | 10mm | 1.5 | _____? F | 10mm | 1.5 | _____? AEFDH are all the same stud/nut. C is the smaller through bolt and BG are the larger through bolts.

Haha ok yes I know that much, I am trying to figure out the stud lengths.

pfft, i didn't really want to dig out a set of bolts to measure as you can just measure the turbo flange thickness... but ok.
AEFDH = 35.5mm 10X1.5mm BG = 68.75mm 10X1.5mm(these are bolts not studs) C = 32.5mm 8X1.25mm(sometimes this is a factory bolt, sometimes a stud/nut) |

I recently replaced mine on a rebuild, and noticed that the old ones were a shorter length than the replacements I ordered through Ray. (both the old and new ones were OEM iconel or whatever it's called)
confused me at first but there were no fitment issues with the longer studs, and I have a RHD. Unfortunately I don't have any of them laying around anymore to measure for you. |
Placed my order with McMaster-Carr. I also ordered studs for the brick-to-block, and I ordered an extra of each one just to be safe.

The 4 OEM ones for the downpipe were the same size as A,D,E,F,H FWIW if you're ordering those as well.

I've gotten a few PMs from people due to my build thread asking for stud sizes and where I got them. Just wanted to update the thread with a follow up that includes everything in one post.
Here is everything you'll need to re-stud the stock turbo stuff: For the brick. See the photo in the 1st post for letter codes:
For the 4 studs that bolt the brick to the engine block:
For the downpipe: You can use 4 of the M10x1.5 that are 37mm long (same as A,D,E,F,H on the brick). Part number 98867A350 You'll also want washers. I used these (sold by the bag):

Out of curiosity, why did you decide to go this way rather than OEM? Obviously they are much cheaper than stock. However, the OEM bolts are made from Inconel, which is a better material for dealing with the heat generated by the turbos. Based on the number of broken studs out there, they aren't perfect, but I'm curious to see how regular steel holds up over several years and if they stretch or weaken after a couple hundred heat cycles.
