Take off the undertray and take a look in there....you can remove them by sliding them up (away from the ground) off of a metal tab.

Not sure of the temp drop, but if you plug up the holes on either side, then as I said before -- Every little bit helps. FWIW, I think my temps drop faster when I'm at speed.... :)

When you say "plug up the holes on either side", wouldn't this fill in the gap used to pull air for stock modified airboxes or most other modified intakes? I was reading about reliability modifications and one said to fill in the gaps below and to either side of the radiator, but I haven't been able to find any worth filling in...

Try what someone else mentioned before....put a light underneath the car and look into the mouth of the front fascia. If you see light coming through a hole, then plug it up!

Of course, if you've set up your intake to take air from the front, leave that open. I'll be setting up my cold air to come from the 2nd oil cooler would normally sit, since I don't have an R1/R2.

Good luck.

Thanks. One more question that may be stupid, does that include filling in the holes in the bellypan, or are those actually the holes people are talking about? Maybe it'll make more sense when I'm actually looking at the car.

My own fabrication...same in principle and design.

The wheels are Borbet Type T's. The intercooler was SR's old Horizontal mount that I finally "finished." It's been in the car for about a month and is working pretty good. The duct is about 80% finished, so it'll work better when that's finished. I'm considering selling the whole thing though and getting Chuck's V-Mount or something else because I just don't have time to mess with the duct. Anyone interested? :)

Oh yeah, forgot the pic....

The stock front end...you know, before someone with sense got a hold of it, has two plastic half moon shaped pieces of plastic that are basically blocking airflow...they narrowed the bumper opening by about 3-4 inches on each side. Pretty worthless pieces to be honest.
I think the one on the passenger side is designed to push airflow into the stock intercooler duct. Just by looking at it, it appears that removing it will slow the airflow to the SMIC duct.

Just my guess. dont shoot me.
