My friend Mad_7tist on here helped me with my whole project. Basically he did all of the difficult mechanical work and guided me on any tough and crucial decisions I had to make because I was more of a newb than I realized. Without him I'd have just a regular modified FD and even then not at its potential and I wouldn't have been able to do the custom setup I wanted without being so frustrated that I'd lite the car on fire. One of his biggest themes was keeping the car streetable because it is my only car and therefore my daily driver. I don't know how many times I heard him say "you're gonna have a 400hp car and be able to go through a Mcdonald's drivethru just like every other jackass"
Well James this ones for you bro. Good time to thank you for everything you did, it doesn't get much better than this and this weekend (without the tv) I'm taking it out to battle the fastest car in gville an 03 cobra trapping 128.

BTW this tv is at best buy its a 27" flatscreen toshiba with clearcolor options and it will fit in the trunk of your fd effortlessly. (not guaranteed for those with bose tube radio)

Haha, yea I notice that I use my passenger seat more then the trunk for transporting stuff.

oneflytrini 01-06-05 09:30 PM

Ye that passenger seat really is a second trunk. I find myself just throwing stuff on there all the time. Surge, you must have gotting tons of downforce for those rear wheels on the ride home ;)

`sl!mXP 01-06-05 09:50 PM

heh how many people actually have room left in the storage bins?

Jaymez 01-06-05 10:14 PM

We have storage bins ???

Ya I find it wierd how much stuff i can fit in the car lol.

not me both occupied

I'm just always careful when I put stuff in so that I don't hurt the interior. That tv did lower my car about 1/2 inch it was so heavy but I only went 3/4 of a mile with it. I've moved my entire apartment from college to back home with my fd one trip. Really helps when my mom complains about how I should get a more practical car.

John Magnuson 01-07-05 01:02 AM

The passenger rear storage bin is for your relocated battery! The one behind the passenger for an emergency kit.

I keep around a pimpin' 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis Station Wagon for the serious hauling.

1revn3rdgen 01-07-05 02:57 AM

I guess everybody uses the passenger seat as a trunk, i did it a few times.

Helios 01-07-05 03:03 AM

Imagine seeing that FD w/ that HUGE box in the back, damn dude I"m surprized that thing actually fit in their, I owuld be afraid the tv would fly out. haha anyways awesome pic

MrRx 01-07-05 07:08 AM

What are storage bins?.... lol

My seats always got crap in it, My laptop, the unmounted haltech

particleeffect 01-07-05 07:50 AM

hell, just with me in my FD, i'm loading it up with crap wayy past capacity. ;)

nice job on the tv man, talk about ICE.

Section8 01-07-05 09:20 AM

I use the passenger seat for ballast. My wife balances out the car quite well during autox runs :)

PhoenixDownVII 01-07-05 09:50 AM

Rock on bro, you da man!

I'm gonna have to fly you up (and your friend) to do a mimic setup on my FD someday.

Larz 01-07-05 09:58 AM

My cargo bins are filled with tools, parts and fluids for those middle of nowhere break downs.

racerxrx7 01-07-05 10:57 AM

What's up Yanni?

You and I need a second car. How's you're car running? I'm still waiting for my exhaust and Coilovers. I put the Greddy Profec B II in last night. it's pretty cool. I still have to mess with it. See you around. James is coming over to help me change the Fifth gear syncro. If you are bored, come by. We will be there all day.

See ya.

Aldo car is running incredible
just got a newer alt, newer starter, new battery, new tial bov, fixed my exhaust leak
its basically perfect

I sent james some pics to help with the job

racerxrx7 01-07-05 12:43 PM

Thanks for the help.

I'm not really looking forward to taking this apart. Thanks for the help. Any special tools that I might need to do this swap?

Aldo

J_J 01-07-05 12:46 PM

Haha, I put an FD engine inside my Civic's trunk (able to fit in there nicely with the trunk closed) and drove it back home but I can't fit a TV that big in my Civic.

I bet this would be true for 99% of us.

rotoboy661 01-07-05 12:54 PM

one question why???

Snook 01-07-05 03:26 PM

Aldo ask yur buddy for the pics that I sent him it shows a home made tool but the transmission was totally out.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. How many times does James have to prove himself. He could have his own shop right now even rotary specific and make all the others look silly. By the end of the weekend you'll be sportin a working 5th gear

I drove my 93 around for a year and then sold it with the problem. Mine was never really that bad but I can see how you'de wanna replace it I would do the same on this car.

kurrupt999 01-07-05 05:28 PM

Hah i got the same tv. Good choice. And it seems to me that the tv fits perfectly in there. :) My friend helped with his minivan to cart the tv from the place to my house.

darkphantom 01-07-05 05:42 PM

I got ropes in the storage bins cause with those groceries they will move everywhere

darkphantom 01-07-05 05:42 PM

thats if you put them in the passenger seat
