Moved front relay box

Have an R1 I'm dropping the big HKS IC into. Here are a coupla pix of the front relay box I moved up next to the master cylinder. Brushed aluminum bracket is from straight stock sold by Home Creepo and will be painted black at some point.

About 10-12 wires needed to be extended 3 or so feet. Just clipped and inserted the extensions one wire at a time, soldered and heat shrink insulated at both ends. Wrapped it all back up in new loom and will electrical tape it next. Also added a couple of heavy duty (10 guage) wires where Mazda had spliced 2 wires into just one HD wire to ground in the front.

While bumper and the fiberglass structure behind it were off, took some sandpaper and made sure the 2 big grounding brackets were contacting bare metal chassis and then when it was all put back together, I sprayed some white lithium grease over so (hopefully) no water would capillary its way in between the 2 pieces of metal.

Its a little tough to get the relay box open in its new position, nessecitating the removal of the screw on the bracket. (But it's easier than trying to get to it in it's old position. ;-) )

BTW, see the little white oval surrounding the hole in the inner edge of the fender? What are those and the little black pieces of cloth that usually cover them for????????

Looks good man.

I believe the holes your refering too are the alignment holes used when installing a fender. They are used to get the fender straight and lined up correctly.
