more clutch and tranny woes (wedge collar)
Well i got the tranny back on buttttt......
for starters the slave cylinder broke...and pissed all over my face thats fine whatever now the wedge collar wont seat into the throw out bearing (or what ever its suppose to seat into).... Everything look fined before I put it in.. Also I upgraded my clutch fork... if i have to drop the tranny again im selling the car :) |
how much? :) j/k take a breath and relax for a few!
but really the throw out bearing needs to "snap" into the wedge collar. The collar needs/needed to be set in the pressure plate correctly and not bent.( the little teeth that hold it in the PP) If those bend, the coolar can pull out when you operate the clutch. Giving you the impression that the TO bearing is not clipped in. have a friend push the clutch and watch the operation thru the site hole. See if the collar is being pulled out of the PP. If it is not, see if you can"help" the collar seat into the PP. OR help the TO bearing seat into the collar. You can help it by using a pry bar and GENTLY pushing it towards the PP. You will see/hear it lock in when it happens. |
you ready for this.... :)
this made me jump around like a mad man :) no C ring installed on the back of the collar WOOOOHOOOOOOOO so dropped it down..took the C ring off my old wedge collar... its all good..gonna go have a few drinks now :) |
