modding an fd?

what are the 5 best thing to do when modding an fd.
I have heard, exhaust, dp, ecu, intake, s-afc or fuel pump.

Its a sensor that detects detonation in your motor.

where does porting come in? I wanted to do that first and have the engine rebuilt good idea or bad? Does that change anything in the list?
