modded fd, advise on next step needed
i just completed my engine swap: in one shot i installed a mazda rebuild engine, new factory seq turbos, new vacume lines, unorthadox crank pullie, ign wires, plugs ect. the car is now producing 14.5/15.0 of boost. mods prior to the above list are. m2 air box, m2 down pipe, m2 reprogrammed comp. pfs cat back, the car was at 12.5 boost before. BEFORE i blow it up, and when i can save up some more $$ what should i upgrade next? this is not a daily driver and does not go to the track. p.s. this car is very quick now.

any one out there? i'm thinking cosmo fuel pump & a boost controler. then injectors but do i have to get a manegement system like power fc with commander?

How about an Aluminum AST for starters, then upgrade with a Fluidyne radiator.
If you are running with the stock AST (plastic), it will eventually crack and dump your radiator fluid. You don't want that to happen, so replace it while you are able with and aluminum AST. Pettit Racing has them for $150. The more power you put on the engine, the more you need to keep it cool. |
i replaced it with a fact. one when it cracked. rad is orig . thanks for the advise.

Well, get a boost controller and dial it in at 11-12 psi and maybe PMC or PFC I really dont like reprogrammed ECU's. You cant trust them just like a rotary motor:).

does the pfc have a boost controler?

If you want to get something cheap to control your boost, go with the "Home Depot" boost controller. It works very well, is easy to install and adjust, and is easily removed if you want to upgrade later. I like it on my car. Total cost, less than $10.
