Missing top screw from TPS

Is this capable of throwing it into Limp Mode and give issues? Im pretty sure it is but just want to clarify.

Top screw is missing and TPS is held on by bottom screw but there is enough play in the TPS to raise concern.

Top screw missing. (Where it says adjust)

The 2 places I went did not have the correct screw. M4-.70x12 Socket head cap screw

Hi Dan. If the TPS can move (missing a screw) it will easily fall out of adjustment in my (short but applicable) experience.

Ok thanks! Im going to go get a volt meter tomorow and check and see what its sitting at right now with the screw off. And hopefully by then ill be able to track down a screw and adjust it and it will fix my problem.

search p/n 91280A134

that will bring up a m4 screw with a .7 mm pitch by 12mm long with a hex head, I'm going by the specs you stated "The 2 places I went did not have the correct screw. M4-.70x12 Socket head cap screw"

Im assuming that it is correct because I got it from another forum and it kept coming up in my searches.

same size and pitch came up in my searches as well, I just didn't see a definitive answer on the length of the screw, if you want to be sure, remove the other screw and measure its length...

If you're ordering, I'd get part number 92095A192 which is a stainless button head fastener. Yeah, you get 100 of them, but ah well, that's half the fun with McMaster-Carr :). The button head allen will be easier to get a tool on and will look clean.

I'd also put a dab of blue Loctite on the threads to keep them in place.

Found the screw in a 3 pack, but it doesnt help me because the top screw was broke off, which is why it wasn there in the first place....so now im up shit creek.

You have a broken screw stuck in the threads? That really sucks, I would just drill it out and tap it for the closest fractional size that is bigger then 4mm.
