Mazdaspeed Rear Big Brake Kit
I'm new to this thread and wanted to know if anyone has any feedback on SRMotorsports' Mazdaspeed rear big brake kit? it has the e-brake function and is like a smoky black color
|
Check out the good guy bad guy section, there is a few threads on SR, bad ones.....don't buy from them.
|
It's simply the 99 spec rear brake kit, go check out the FDNewbieImports section here on the forum if you want to buy it from a reputable seller.
Some info on SR for ya here: https://www.rx7club.com/questions-about-members-102/thinking-about-ordering-sr-motorsports-shane-racing-ray-lochhead-read-1st-628636/ |
i e-mailed newbie 2wice but never got a reply from him. i basically wanted to know if it was a good product and if SRMotorsports was a reputable mechanic. i really don't care about price. a good rx7 mechanic is getting harder and harder to find these days
|
I would recommend asking the NorCal guys where they take their cars for service.

hahahha. He takes a long time. I am 3.5 weeks later. RAMMMMMMMMMMMY

Ramy may take awhile to get to you, but he's worth the wait. You'll get your parts from a trustworthy source.
I'm an old-schooler here, and SR has ripped-off a few people on these boards before (PowerFC related). I'm sure you could search for them if you really wanted to. |
i've dealt with quite a few vendors and few seem to be "reputable" in the sense that they take forever to find/ship the products they say they have in stock...return e-mails...i just take it as the 'rx-7 tax' and bear with them. But if someone is blatantly ripping someone off then they should be called on it. I've been to SRM and talked to a guy named Greg and he seemed pretty knowledgable about every question i asked. And i can tell if they hesistate and then shoot me BS just so they have an answer

You can get the same thing from N-Tech or the Rx-7 Store with better service and prices.

I've found SR to have some of the highest pricing on parts available from many sources. Jack |
As others have said, those are just the 99-rear OEM brakes...you can get them from a number of sources, Mazda Motorsports being the best (just have to run 2 auto-x/year to be a member).

RZ (99) rear calipers @ $260 each RZ (99) rear rotors @ $120 each. |
Damn $260 a caliper?! That is insane! ...nevermind, we are talking about FD's afterall. :)
Does anyone have a pic of these installed, I'm curious now how different they are from the Series 6/7 ones. Are they twin piston, that'd be a big improvement IMO.

It may not be an issue, but don't forget that you'll need 17" wheels or larger for those brakes. .

Re: the 99spec/RZ brakes, I've gotten a ton of inquiries on those, so I may (finally) be running a GB on 'em shortly if anyone's interested (including all the misc. associated parts). Thanks! ~Ramy FDNewbie Imports |

LOL, fair enough, but it was worth a try. I have my eye on a couple of things from your site, so you'll probably get my money anyway. ;)
