Mazda RX-7 = Rebuilt or Buy a New?

Hey i was wondering what would be a better thing to do.

Buy a Used RX-7 3rd Generation that is running, or just buy one thats like a salvage vechicle and rebuilt the whole car. What would probably cost more and anyone know where i can buy the RX-7 Parts for the WHOLE CAR!?

thanks for you help

Personally with the experience that I've had with my car, I would buy an FD with a blown motor and have it rebuilt. You'll save money in the long haul. Plus you'll know exactly what is done to the motor. Just my 2 cents

I bought a salvage vehicle and have been working on it for the past two years. I got it road worthy in three months and have been doing little things here and there.

It does get expensive at times, even with 20% discount from the mazda dealer. Sites such as this one and ThePartsTrader.com can be of great help but, be prepared for some loses. Jayspec7's links also offer great sources.

Words of advice... if you decide to this, make a list and do it right the fist time.

Cool Runnings........

you'll never get your money back if you rebuilt a salvage car...I'm talking about the stuff that you would have to put in...

True, true words. If financial gain is what you are seeking DO NOT BUY SALVAGE. For personal gain...sleepless nights, frustration and all the good stuff leading to a job well done, its the best bang for the buck!

I suggest you spend some time first looking for one that still has a good title but the owner just wants to get rid of it. I saw some on the parts trader after I got mine but still, no regrets.

Cool Runnings!!!!
