Mazda Fuel Injectors or OEM...?
 

Hey Guys,
My primaries are leaking and with 125k on my '93, it can only be a matter of time before the secondaries fail as well. Seems that the going price for injectors from Mazda is about $250 each. I noticed that the RX7 store is selling Nippon Denso as an OEM replacement for $150 each.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they really the same? I'd love to save the money if they're identical.

the denso are OEM .. MAzda ... get them .. no worries ..

what rx7 store means by oem replacement is ... replace your Original ones.. with .. new ones ... not OEM equivalent

hey man i bought my spark plugs and wires OEM, same ones it comes from Mazda rx7 originality .

I like buying OE stuff for the car and this site is good for that some products might be kinda pricey not too sure but compare to MAzda dealer they are better.

Worked very well.
Injectors don't really wear out like other mechanical components. Spend your money elsewhere like replacing all the old coolant hoses or other wear items.

Yeah, Witchhunter did mine about 18 months ago. Turns out he's just a few miles from me here in Washington.

My primaries have definitely failed. Fuel is coming up through the connectors and pooling on top of the engine when fuel system is pressurized.

Primaries are subject to much more heat soak and can eventually start to leak up through the windings and into the connector.

Though it's painful to spend the money right now, it's a much cheaper fix than an engine fire.

Hoses, (rats nest and coolant) are all fresh!

Hmmm... Interesting failure.

FWIW, I got some low mileage primaries recently from Japan2LA and had Witchunter service those. Worked well and very nicely priced.

Make sure it's not the o-rings that seal the injector body to the rail before you drop the cash.

I've replaced a number of injectors on other engines and it was always because of a flow problem or an open circuit on the coil. Not to say it doesn't happen, just don't want you blowing unnecessary cash.

Holy monkey that is a lot of cash. You could buy them second hand for peanuts, or you could put in 1300 and still have cash left over. I like new stuff too but not when its that much of a price difference. Hell I even have a set of 1300's that I got from japan2la. They have 6 dyno runs on them. WAY cheaper then going new.

$150 for a brand new fuel injector is not bad at all considering the cars are now 16+ years old. Last time I checked, the fuel system is *kinda* important on the FD3S ;)

150 each = $300 if he is only doing the primary or secondary. Or $600 total if he wants to replace all 4. Not sure if he included tax on top of that or what americans pay for tax but if he bought used OEM injectors that are a dime a dozen he would likely not spend more than $100. That puts $500 towards other items ( like a used aluminum flywheel, fast acting AIT sensor, and a down pipe ) to me that is a big enough difference and easily justifiable.
