maybe MMO really does work well. . .

this guy on a local forum stuck some in his oil pan and his compression went up. . . way up. . . maybe it IS worth it to dump some in the fuel tank. . . http://www.tennesspeed.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=13965

sorry about that. . .

Well, it's a long story so here the executive version:

I had bad compression in my #6 cylinder (55 psi dry, 140 wet). Normal range for a TT is 125-170 with a max delta of 14 between any 2 cylinders. All others were in spec at around 150 each.

Figured it was either a busted ring land or carbon deposits keeping the rings from seating properly. Figured I'd investigate the carbon theory.

I did the following:

1. On the very next oil change, I put 1 qt Marvels Mystery Oil
2. I ran a 5 to 1 mix of Gas + toluene and an additional 4oz Mystery oil in the tank for about 60 miles. I did this twice. Drove the car hard for those 120 miles. Car ran great with toluene in the tank. The guy at the paint store was a little confused, maybe he thinks I'm running a meth lab
3. Finished out the test by putting another 400 miles on the car with the MMO in the pan and in the tank. 500 miles total.

Compression tested my #6 cyl today and it rang up at 142 bone dry. I triple checked it, too.

Problem solved. I guess Ben and I won't be tearing it down down to the block this spring after all. Sorry dewd. Maybe helping me slap on some HEUG TrUBOz will help ease the pain?

I've got the super size 5-gallon jug right next to me. :D

For real though, I'm not sure how much it helps, but it doesn't hurt any either. I was putting in 4oz into the gas tank every fill up, but now am doing it every other fill up since I never let my car get below 1/4 tank of gas. After starting this and using Mobile 1 the idle is a lot smoother now.

i use castrol syntec, mmo in the tank, and synthetic 2stroke oil for the injectors. my car needs some tuning though. . . cant really tell what the difference is at the moment. hahaha.
