I had an Automatic once, when I first started off with FDs. I modded it out from Seq to Non-sequential onward to a Large single Turbo. I literally fused the Reverse, first clutch pack into one mass at 400hp. Game over and then went manual and never looked back

Got three Autos to manuals now :)

GENERALLY speaking, it seems that as long as you don't exceed 325 - 350 hp you are pretty much okay......(crosses fingers.....)
Of course, a lot depends on HOW you treat the tranny, regardless of hp. You can waste one of these things with stock hp if you do a lot of power-braking and the like.
Some people recommend going with synthetic fluid. I haven't yet but am considering it.

325-350 hp max. no power braking at all "you will kill it quick". learn how to use the hold function, and use synthetic fluid in the trans. you can do all the bolt on mods as long as you stay at 10 psi with the stock ecu.

Not to steal the thread, but could anyone explain to me what "power breaking" is?

hold brake, press gas pedal... gives you a good launch with an auto. all you have to do is let off the brake and you are on your way!

with a manual it is a touch more difficult. you have to feather the clutch to be engaging, while holding the ebrake and giving it some gas.

please correct me if i am wrong.
