Map Sensor question..
Hey everyone..
How can you tell if your Map Sensor has gone bad or not? Does it make your car run a certain way? are their andy tell tale signs of a bad map sensor?? |
You'll have bad idle, smoke, run real lean at idle, rich at throttle. You might've just knocked the hose off the sensor? otherwise, i don't remember how to test it.

You usually test them by volts at certain rpms an wot but I don't know how to do ours.

YEAH, ITS BAD. THIS IS THE SAME FUCKING ONE THAT YOU SOLD ME WITH THE AVC-R. THIS IS WHY IM HAVING SO MANY FUCKING PROBLEMS, IS'NT IT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR RUNS LIKE SHIT.
ALSO WHEN I GET MY MID-PIPE ON AND THE ECU DONT MAKE A DIFFERNCE I WANT A FULL REFUND OR WE WILL END UP IN COURT............................................. ................. (FOR THE PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW THE CAR DOES NOT RUN RIGHT WITH THE ECU HE SOLD ME) BUT I HOPE ITS BECAUSE IM RUNNING TO RICH... SORRY TO VENT, BUT IM PISSED.......:mad: |
Dan: Who ripped you off? If your CEL comes on do you know the error code? That error code should help you track down the source of your problem.
If you're map sensor is bad then your car will pretty much run like what it does when you disconnect the map sensor. Bad idle, lots of backfiring, lots of black smoke. |
if I unplug it when its running it makes no difference

dan How is it all hooked up I know the avc-r is good as for the map sensor you should have (2) map sensors now. one that was stock in its location and the second one in a new location(probally inside car so you just tap of the boost line)

I am gonna only address you once and this is it. I do not want to get into a pissing contest or verbal arguement. No reason to act irrate and childish.I seen your other post also. Slandering me and my reputation wont' do you any good. 1st of all: You got a good deal you got a reprogrammed RE AMEMIYA ECU And a Super AVC-R with instructions and a map sensor SHPPED Under 600, which is a great deal. 2nd of all: I told you from the begginning that the ECU was programmed for SMIC, DP, MP , CB.. Granted you have a DP and CB. nevertheless you would still need a intercooler and MP to have the ecu work efficiently. Only problem you have is at idle when the fan kicks on You even said, other than that everything worked great. You get 14-15psi of boost and said car felt faster. 3rd: The Mapsensor: Reason I asked that question initially because I couldn't get any PMS's PF piggy back to work on my car becaues It would hit boost cut.. So that was my question regarding mapsensor because someone said it could be the problem.. To let you know the map sensor I questioned about is still in my CAR and works FINE.. The one I sold you I bought off the forum, and works to.. I bought the Mapsensor from Silver93TT who is parting out his car to go single turbo.. IT obviously worked when he had it, it worked for me.. For you to assume I gave you something bad is unjust and uncalled for.. 4th: I read some of your post asking about the avcr and how you broke some nipples off some solenoids and etc.. Think maybe that could be the problem?? And for your information, your car would be running off the MAP sensor off YOUR CAR thats already been there from the begginning. Obviously you installed something wrong. Just be patient and dont' take your fustrations out on me. 5th: In good faith.. after you send me email tellin gme the problems you are having.. You wanted me to buy back the ECU for 300. I told you that I am strapped for cash, because I was going to buy a haltec and midpipe. instead I bought a PFC and midpipe.. SO I even offered to buy it back for 200. Everything considering you are lucky I offered that. I am doing what I can to help and do what I can. But if you gonna act this way and slander me and my reputation..I have no recourse for you. take care |
Sean/Dan: I am currently working with dan to fiqure his problems out in fact he had only 1 MAP sensor hooked up so he will put the other one in and he should be running like a champ so everyone just cool down and we will get thru it!! Sean I understand you are pissed at Dan for saying all that stuff but look at it from his point of view he paid out a good bit of money and it did not work when in fact he just did something wrong with a connection. so everything should be O.K. Dan if you have anymore problems call me

sorry sean, like I said I was venting "I was in a really bad mood. "No flames intended" every thing seemed to be going wrong. Nothing worked, its was the nicest day yet this spring, and my car was not running. Now im working out a few little bugs. I guess it woud help if I knew what I was doing! My mid-pipe should be here any day now, then I will put ur old ecu back in. like I said "sorry"

BTW I installed my PFC and the Idle was screwy Like bouncing also.. So today I installed my Midpipe. and Now walla.. The Idle and everything is smooth now. And after taking off the Main Cat. I can see why it would cause so much problems.. For 1 it weighs a good 40-50lbs. IT was orginal cat, so after we dropped it to the ground. stuff started falling out of it.. SO I assume its was clogged also.. On top of that. That THING Stays HOT. I let it cool down for like 40 minutes, then wrapped it up in a towel. put in my car.. Got back to work. The CAT was burning thru my towel, still sizzling HOT after like a hour.. Wait and see, Your midpipe gonna cure alot of your cars ills. the PFC was programmed for midpipe, and with out it. car ran like crap. with the cat out now. its smooth as a babies bottom.. peace |
Thats cool, you shootin flames now? Do you have any boost spikes? Cant wait to get mine. " hurry up mr. UPS man!!!
