map sensor filter missing
 

Hi guys, just noticed the otherday I am missing the filter in the hose to the map sensor, is this filter absolutely necessary ? and are they even available at mazda any more ?

I would think it is better to have one than not. Call Ray Crowe: 888 533 3400

The filter also acts as an "attenuator," i.e., it dampens the pulses in manifold pressure so that the MAP sensor reads more accurately and won't fatigue out from the vibrations. So, IMO, it should be there.

I'm also sure you can get one used for next to nothing.
