Manecore Wires and Spark Plug
 

I just want to clear this out...

I want to do a tune up on my FD.
What size of wire should i get? I want manecore wires or MSD. Just follw each wire to where it belongs??

So the two trailing spark plug goes on top. Anywhere on top??
Are the two the same or different???meaning does it matter, or have to be specific, if it's trailing than it all goes on top??

Same for Leading?? If it's leading and it goes on the bottom two rotor correct??

Honestly, I don't think it matters. FD's don't typically have ignition problems so the difference between the 10 and 8.5mm wires probably won't make a difference.

Having said that, I'm running the 10mm.

you think nine will be cool for me,

or just stick with 8.5

I have heard people have had problems with the manecore wires, particularly the 10mm versions. I personally just bought the MSD wires. Nice wires however the fitment sucked. One wire was simply too short. Next time I'll stick with what's been proven, Accel, Taylor or NGK.

Magnecor are decent. The boots can be a little difficult to get on the plug sometimes, so I suspect that what people complained about in the past (as I also heard the stories).

I've been using them for about 3 years with no problems.

I have the Magnecors (8 mm). If you go larger they will not fit in the holders. To get the ends on the plugs, make yourself a "burper". Just take a paper clip and bend part of it straight. Put it in the plug boot and put the plug boot on the plug. The paperclip wire provides a gap for the air to escape. Then just pull the paperclip out. I recommend using silicone grease (clear stuff) on the boots, and antiseize compound on the plugs. I use the copper antiseize as the temps. are coolant level at the plug threads.

When I first got my car it took me 30 min. to get the boots off the plugs, trying to not destroy them - hence now I use the silicone grease. They pull off much better.

BTW, it's REAL important you get the boots on all the way, and you have to burp Magnacors to do this. If the wire end arcs to the plug it will burn up the wires.

i just switched out my 10mm magnacors for some 8 mm taylor wires. my magnacors took a crap on me. the problem i had was just as Majik said....the boot went bad on one of them when i was removing it. the taylor wires i just switched to seem to help my car idle better though

I have 8.5 Manecore Wires...
It works fine to me..

i just replaced my stockers with 8.5mm Magencores when i changed my plugs... i haven't had any problems with either but i couldn't tell you if it was the plugs or the wires that are making what amount of the difference i've noticed :)

I am also running Magnacore 8.5mms
