So while changing my oil today i noticed a few things.

First, i was under my car, i came from the front and was right in front of the oil drain plug. While looking up at my engine i notice a small peice. This is underneath the coolant fill stop. The pic is of it,
you can see the area has oil and dirt on it. If you can tell what it is and give me any ideas as to where to start searching for the oil leak taht would be great.

Second, i took off my hard intercooler pipes to get at the oil filter. Inside i noticed that there was oil on the walls and small puddles by the couplers. I dont know if this is bad or not. If it is bad could it be from the previous turbos? They had to be rebuilt shortly before i purchased and has been around 3000 miles since the turbo rebuild. Thanks for any help you guys can give.

oil could be from your old blown turbos if you said they were recently rebuilt.

The oil in the picture doesn't look too fresh. I'd clean it up as best as I could and then watch it. As for the oil in you intake tract, that's relatively common and doesn't necessarily mean anything.
Why do you have to remove the "intercooler pipes" (Throttle body elbow I assume) to remove you oil filter?

The only way to know if they are from these turbos is to clean the inside of those pipes (try to clean what's in the bottom of the intercooler too) and see if it reappears.

As for the oil leak, I agree with Jim - just clean it and see what happens.

During boost, the PCV valve closes and any engine blow-by is directed through the air intake ducts near the Primary Turbo Compressor. This results on "some" oil to deposit over time in these areas. This is normal, assuming there is not excessive oil burning coming out the exhaust.

When intake manifold pressure below atmosphere pressure, the blow-by gas flows through passage 1 and is pulled into the intake manifold.

When manifold pressure at or above atmosphere pressure, the PCV valve closes and blow-by gas flows through passage 2 and is pulled into the intake portion of the Primary Turbocharger.

Note that for newer cars, ('95 ish) the PCV valve and related hoses were removed, as the path to/from the Primary Turbocharger is OK for emissions. However, you will still get oil film buildup in the Turbocharger piping due to passage 2.

thanks for all the info, gonna do some scrubbing today and see if it comes back. I had to remove the throttle body elbow because it was in the way of getting the oil filter pliers on the filter and i removed the pipes to the intercooler for the sake of seeing what the insides of them looked like oil wise.

To loosen the oil filter you can get a "cap" that fits on top of the filter and accepts a 1/4" ratchet (use an extender). It's the easiest way to remove the thing...

^I do the same but with a 3/8' drive and ~ 8 inch extention with a flex 'U-joint' adapter. I call them a filter sockets. They make stamped steel and cast versions in the various sizes. IMO, the 'cast" versions are best. Either way, ALOT easier than pulling off that elbow.
