m2 cf box, asp large smic, mini battery

Anyone tried or accomplished this setup? Seems like a tight fit, but is it possible w/o relocation of the battery?

Yes, Rynberg said that Rick of Rick;s Rotary has a similar setup.

It will work with the rx7fashion intake box...it is VERY tight. If the M2 c/f box is wider, then it probably won't fit.

It wont fit, I tried...

If you look at this pic of my old set-up, you'll see that there is maybe 2.5-3" of space in there. It looks like more, but remember that the IC slopes inward at its bottom which gives the illusiuon that there may be enough space. Unless you can find a batter that is only 3" tall, no mini batter is going to fit.

Moehler is right. It won't work.

I've recently gone through this as well.

If you do any reading up on the subject, it better be "Battery Relocation".

Just relocate the battery and you can fit what you want. :D

You can... sort of

I heard you can (see pic) but that you would have to remove the intercooler everytime you have to remove the battery! From the setups I've seen, if you want to keep the battery in the engine bay, a really good setup is an M2 (ASP) Medium, with a 51-size battery.

Like I said, it's a TIGHT fit! :)

How often do you have to remove the battery anyway? For any work that I've had to remove the battery, I've had to remove the IC also.

Here is a picture of the space left next to a large ASP M2 intercooler with an M2 cf airbox on the other side. This is the space left when the IC is properly centered on the duct.
