M2 Carbon CAI Box fitment problems. Need assistance.

I don't post much as you can see. I made this thread in the Tech forum but thought it would be relevant to this one as well. Please view the following:

thanks

Make sure that the box isn't caught on the radiator or fans. The bottom edge of the airbox should be outside of the radiator. If it is the radiator hose that won't let it sit lower, then an option is to lower the radiator 1/4". Good luck!

I made sure that the box is not in the fan. About lowering the radiator, how would you do that? It is definately the hose that is in the way though.

I found a good site about this very issue:

thanks for replying/viewing.

You don't necessarily need to lower the radiator. Me and a friend fixed the issue by moving the CAI box back further. You can do this by slightly trimming the smaller hoses.

I'm not going to touch the radiator. I am going to remove the bracket that supports that coolant hose, which will alow me to push the box down another half inch or so.

Correct. I did that also, and it helped, but I was still slightly high. The answer was to spend about an hour retightening and trimming the hoses, so the CAI box sat further back.

I've also thought about cutting out some of the hood insulation to give it further clearance. The reason I don't is because it acts as a buffer right now from the hood, which would definately scratch it up.

That didn't work. I removed a chunk of that as well. I removed that bracket underneath also. Not enough. Then I went to a buddy of mine that had one, and we took off all the hoses, and one by one, modified them enough to make the box sit back further.

PVerdieck, when the box is sitting back further is it still bolted down?
