M2 carbon Airbox installation. WITH rubber spacers underneath? Hood clearance issue.

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to wrap up the installation of an M2 Carbon Fiber airbox that I purchased used (Thanks Adam Griffith!).

The airbox was delivered with two rubber spacers for it to be install atop of (strong assumption)

I am having issues with hood clearance to the point of being unable to close it.

Has anyone had this happen and did you simply install the airbox without the rubber spacers dirctly on top the frame rail?

WIll simply removing hood liner fix this?

Cheers!
David

Both of my aftermarket intake boxes have sat directly on the frame rail. My PFS rubbed the hood at the front right corner of the intake, but my rx7fashion box clears just fine.

Where is it rubbing?

Ditch the spacers

I purchased a used M2 carbon intake off the board a couple months ago and it didn't come with any spacers that you describe. It was complete in every other way and fit's perfectly.

Ditto rynberg, but I have an aluminum M2 box and a CF M2 box. No clearance problems on a stock hood using the hood liner.

You didn't ask, but FWIW, I don't think that you need to bolt the CF version to the rail-- once it's mounted with the hoses (for stock turbos), it's not going anywhere.

Agree with Art. I have the CF box not bolted to the rail. It's not going anywhere.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Problem solved.

Hood closes nicely with no rubber spacers underneath the airbox.
