lumpy idle

Just tryin to get some help on another problem my car had from the start. Its had a pretty damn lumpy idle. When i start it up its nto that bad, but when it warms up and goes below 1k... it kinda bounces between 700-800. The car has been streetported but its not that big. Its just a smogport which is said not to give lumpy idles. Jeff at rotary power replaced a few things like the tps, but ive read that it needs to be calibrated. If so wat are the chances that he didnt do that.

Also sometimes the idle drops down to like 500 rpm for a second or two but never dies. And if i turn on the A/C it idles perfectly at like 800-900. What could cause this? Thanks

Mods are: 3mm seals, streetport, dp exhaust, and silicon hoses. thanks

My understanding is that any porting will make you have a lumpy idle at those low rpms. When I got street ported, I upped my idle to 850, and have no problems. But if I drop it to 750, it feels like a camed V8.

even the small streetport is going to idle a bit lumpy. But hey, lumpy is cool sounding :)

Actually I've heard his motor and it's unusually too lumpy. Compared to my street ported motor and another friends, we all were agreeing the same. But hey, who knows, maybe he has a more aggressive ported motor.

Art, what ever happened with the other problems, I'm thinking the lumpy idle is somehow connected with all this. You might want to give the air-bleed screw on the throttle body a shot as well.

I THINK my other problems are fixed, but I need a second opinion. I'll look at the bleeder screw. Where exactly can i adjust my idle from. I really wouldnt care if i have to idle at 1k at all times as long as its pretty smooth. Thanks
