ls1 oil pressure sensor to FD secondary fuel rail
 

Hi All,

I'm looking to adapt an LS1 oil pressure sensor's threads to the threads used by our secondary fuel temp sensor. The idea is to mount the LS1 pressure sensor in place of the FD's fuel temp sensor.

So, how to adapt the 16mm x 1.5 LS1 pressure sensor male threads to the female 12mm x 1.5 FD fuel rail temp sensor threads?

I'm open to other ideas as to how to put this in line to measure fuel pressure.

I am guessing that if you are trying to mount this in the same location as the factory Fuel Temp sensor you are still using a rotary engine. Most fuel pressure sensors will just thread right in without any modifications in this location. I have a AEM stainless 150 PSI sensor in this exact location and is connected to an AEM for logging. They sell a Brass version of this sensor which is very inexpensive. Honestly this is not the best location for a Fuel pressure reading. Some where off the regulator would be better.

I should have thought of that to start with, find a sensor that fit the factory location. Looks like I may be off to sell my brand new LS1 sensor. LOL

The factory sensor is IIRC metric thread and seals with a crush washer. A thread gauge can easily tell you what it is.

Most oil pressure senders are 1/8" NPT, there may be an adapter out there to make that work.

If you're worried about your fuel pressures I'd recommend just replacing your inlets and outlets on the rails with AN fittings and using an external regulator that has ports for pressure built in. There are a bunch of very small well known regulators out there now that aren't 18+ years old like ours tend to be.

^ That's what I did, I run Garfinkle rail adapters, deleted the FPD and replaced the OEM FPR with an Aeromotive one, and monitor my FP from there.
