Low primary boost after DP install

hey whats up, I put my DP on a couple weeks ago and ever since then my primary turbo isn't boosting as hard as it used to, it seems to be lacking quite a bit of power, yet the secondary comes on strong. By the way I do have quite a bit of pre-spool or boost creep whatever the hell its called... starts spooling at around 2k rpms, yet when I give it some gas the primary boost is pretty weak, even when the turbos are under a load? I searched the forum to see where I should trouble shoot first,.. any help would be great, thanks in advance

How many miles your car got? Could be a clogged cat.

58k, you think its a clogged main cat?

It's not a clogged cat....

I'm guessing you either knocked something loose or it's another problem that just happened to occur now....

What are your actual boost readings?

Nah not with 58k on it. Maybe if it had more than 100k.

Here is the site for trouble shooting.
Good Luck, btw check your couplers and everything. TAKE THEM OFF AND BEND THEM. Dont just touch them while their on, a crack might not be able to be seen while their on, but under boost they expand and release some.

I think you're confusing terms here. Pre-spool is a term used to denote the time when the TCA opens the air passage to allow the secondary turbo to spool right before it's allowed to actually add boost to the intake charge.

Boost creep is when the wastegate is open fully, yet theres too much exhaust flow and the turbos still spin faster and faster, which results in the boost "creeping" up regardless of boost controller. This usually only occurs with a fully open exhaust and healthy twins.

What you've described is just a fast spool up, which is directly related to the downpipe. It's a good thing though, nothing to worry about.

Now about the weak primary. Do you have a boost gauge? It's the most essential tool to finding out the issue. So if you don't have one, get one ASAP.
