Low pressure radiator caps?
Hey guys...anybody know where I could get a low pressure radiator cap to use on my FD with Evans coolant? I've been using a zero pressure cap (by just removing the rubber seal from the stock cap), but I now am thinking that I want a low pressure cap for use instead.
Any suggestions are greaty appreciated...thanks! Allen |
Im almost positive that pineapple racing sells the 7psi caps.

You can get a 7 psi cap at any auto parts store...about $5.

Thanks for the info guys! I'll check out the local Kragen tonight.

Well...the main thing for me is that I realized that tracing leaks and whatnot are nearly impossible in a zero-pressure system since in a hi-pressure system, leaks will start to flow out fairly noticably once the pressure builds up. I've had a mysterious loss of coolant the last week or so, and I just want to track down any obvious leaks.

Thanks

I dunno about that, when I had a coolant leak in my car at 0 PSI it was still pretty easy to find. try a pressure tester that attaches to the top of the filler neck and just pump it up.

Yeah I was thinking I'd do that as well. Right now, I'm dreading the fact that it *might* be a coolant o-ring failure, which would really suck since the motor was rebuilt like 20k ago.
